Of Furries and Avatars..

My friend Kangaroo Jack over at FA invited me to answer some questions on joining the world of Furries. My response brought up some personal insights about myself that I found interesting enough to share..

This was the question:

"HOW DID YOU ENTER THE FURRY FANDOM AND HOW / WHEN / WHY YOU ENTERED FA"

This was my response:

The Sci-Fi pocketbook 'Drinking Sapphire Wine' opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of what you can choose yourself to be and not be restrained by what you have been physically provided with from the get go.. Growing up with Superhero shows from the U.S. and Japan, the thrill of the damsel in distress commonly portrayed in all of them instilled a desire I secretly wanted to play out.. Drawing for me was a way to explore that aspect. Then later on RPGs where I can become the heroine.. The essence of being a furry is similar, with the difference being not only having the freedom to choose your gender but of your species as well. In a furry way, the closest exotic species I fancied my avatar being was an angel! That was the closest thing I can relate as entering the world of furry fandom.

On the how, when and why: I credit Chickenball-Zkai, now xZeroMan, whom I met at DA, for introducing me to FA and the genuine furry world around a year ago during a time when human characters were finally accepted to the site. Frankly, I was looking for a site other than HF where I can share my DA prohibited works. And from FA I was introduced to F-List and then the NSFW where I've been fortunate enough to have had a chance to meet and RP with several furries to share my stories and indulgences with.. ;)
